Karen Teeley is passionate about creating quality crafts. She has been designing and creating for more than a few years and never sure what she loves best! Whether it is miniatures, wooden toys, puzzles, fairy doors or needlepoint, she approaches each project with love and enthusiasm for the art of creating.
My Mom and Dad gave me a doll house when I was little and that love was re-kindled as a adult. Actually I was in the market for some oriental rugs for my (regular large) home when i realized I couldn't afford them. But once I realized I could make miniature needlepoint rugs...I was just as happy to have those! And so began oriental and other miniature rugs for every room in every doll house.
Since doll houses are big and year long projects, I started making room boxes and miniature personalized book shelves for gifts and commissioned pieces. The book shelves became popular for retirement and milestone celebrations, especially for book lovers. The room boxes are great for capturing a nursery or a childhood room to preserve the memories.
As grandchildren started arriving, I started receiving requests for all natural wooden toys and puzzles. All of the toys are finished with beeswax and food-grade mineral oil and/or non-toxic acrylic paint (if painted). Toy selections change with children's interests, let me know if there is something you would like me to build!
